The Art Of Making Your Own Niche Web Sites

Posted under Internet Marketing by tryggvie on Monday 30 November 2009 at 7:32 pm

Creating Niche Web Sites Is Something Anyone Can Do!

The internet is a very powerful marketing tool in the present time. The markets for several, if not all, industries have already made their presence known online and even have their own websites making them more accessible to their customers. Another effective marketing strategy over the internet is with the use of niche web sites.

Niche or themed websites are basically websites that are outright in having their focus on a single theme, area, product or market. It is a very important element in order to be successful in online marketing. This is a very powerful factor that determines the ranking of a certain website in the whole World Wide Web.

The theme of a website should be something that can answer the specific needs of the people who go online searching for certain information. When someone goes online and types in the keywords in the search bar, the sites that are shown on the results page end up as the most popular and visited sites for the specific information one looks for.

Setting the website based on a much focused niche thins out the competition from similar sites. With this tactic, it is easier to make your site stand out against all the other sites of the same information as your own. Although this also involves a lesser amount of potentials, there is a greater level of sales possibilities since most of the customers who get to your sites are those who are already decided to go after the information or product offered in your site. This fact makes niche sites it the perfect choice for affiliate marketers.

Driving the online traffic towards your site involves no sweat at all. This is where online marketing works at its best. The following are a few trusted techniques that are easy to learn and perfect in no time.

1. Posts in forums – There is a growing number of discussion forums online at the present time. They are focused on various topics and are really good sites to start with. One can simply look up for forums that are similar to the niche of the website and get registered there. When adding a comment or post, the website can be included in the personalized signature.

2. Online articles - The use of online articles is widely used today. Niche websites include a list of ample article directories of ones submitted by writers. The article page should have a link that can lead the reader back to your niche website. For more detailed info on article marketing you should read my Article Marketing Tips for Newbies post

3. Publish blogs – Making use of personal blogs is also helpful. They can easily be published with RSS feeds. The most important thing about the blog site is its timely updating and have quality inputs. You can find more details on blog marketing if you read my Blog Marketing – How To Make Money Blogging? post

There are other various tactics to achieve the desired traffic flow to the one’s site. Whether it is a product, theme or a piece of information, smart use of such of a niche website is an ultimate marketing aid that has been trusted to work for some time already. Hot niche websites are the in thing nowadays. They are effective and absolutely helpful in the world of online marketing.

But how to build one? If you have no clue on how to build a successful niche web site for your product, services or some affiliate marketing then I would like to suggest you take a look at two programs that will teach you how. There are of course many other great programs out there but these are the ones I can vouch for.

1. Wordpress Goldmine

This is a program I got early this year and it’s one of my two most favorite one’s. It’s extremely easy to use/follow and it will teach you everything you need to know in a very short period of time. I’m not going to explain the program any further here.. if you like you can read my full Wordpress Goldmine review for more details on it.

2. Mini Site Formula

This is a program I have not used myself but it comes highly recommended from a friend of mine.  It’s basically a program that teaches you now to build, market and maintain niche mini sites with minimal effort.

How To Forward A Domain Using Your Affiliate (hop)Link

Posted under Internet Marketing, My Thoughts by tryggvie on Monday 10 August 2009 at 12:16 pm

I get a lot of questions regarding domain forwarding. The thing is.. article directories like Ezine Articles don’t allow you to use your hoplink (affiliate link) and they also only allow the so called root forwarding. This means that you have to buy a domain name and have it forward to the product page if you want to be able to send potential customers directly to a sales page.

So here is my Domain Forwarding For Newbies Guide
#1 Root Forwarding
#2 Create A Forwarding Folder

Since most I know are using GoDaddy.com to buy domain names (.info domains for only $1) this guides uses screenshots from them.

#1 Root Forwarding | Root URL Redirection

Once you have bought your domain (at GoDaddy.com), login and go to the “My Domains” page and click on the name of the domain you wish to forward (to a sales page using your affiliate link/hoplink).

RootForw_1

On the next screen, click the “Forward” button (see image below)

RootForw_2

Now you should be seeing the “Forward and Mask Domains” screen (see img below)
You need to do the following:
1) make sure you are on the “Forwarding page”
2) Click the “Enable Forwarding”
3) Paste your hoplink/affiliate link into the “Forward to:” box
4) Click the “301 Move…” selection
5) Move over to the Masking page (instructions below)

RootForw_3

Now you should be seeing the “Forward and Mask Domains” page, Masking Page (see img below)

You need to do the following:
1) Click the “Enable Masking”
2) Put description in the “Masked description Meta tag” (using not more than 160 chars)
3) Put you domain name in the “Masked title” – Make sure you use “http:YourDomainNam…” (I forgot the “http://” part in the screensot)
4) Put your best keywords in the “Masked keyword Meta tag”
5) Press the “OK” button

RootForw_4

This is all there is to it.. It takes a few minutes for the forwarding to “go online” – just check regularly. If it is not working withing 30 minutes than go through all the steps again to make sure you did everything correctly.

If you have any questions.. just place a comment and I’ll answer as quickly as possible.

Go Daddy $7.49 .com domains

#2 Create A Forwarding Folder | Folder URL Redirection

Here I explain the other kind of forwarding/redirections. In the guide above we were redirection any traffic coming to YourDomainName.info

But there is another way to do things. Let’s say you don’t really want to buy a domain for every product then you can simply get one domain, host it and then create a forwarding folder for each product you need forwarding. I would not recommend this since some of the best article directories (like Ezine Articles will not allow it). I will however show how this is done since it is a very useful method for those creating niche sites.

Lets say you just signed up as an affiliate to a dog training program and you just bought MyDogTrainingProgram.com at GoDaddy.com (yes.. that domain name is available as this is written). You are going to build a niche dog training site there with training tips and tricks for dog owners and then promote the training program you just signed up as affiliate to.

The best way to forward to the training program from your site is to use a forwarding folder, for example: http://MyDogTrainingProgram.com/go/nameofprogram
In the code this would look like this:
<a href=”http://MyDogTrainingProgram.com/go/nameofprogram” >TextLinkHere</a>

For this to work you need to do two things:
1) You need to access your website using an ftp program and create the folder
2) You need to tell your host provider how to  forward all visist to this folder

and here is how you do those two things..

First of all, hopefully you are using HostGator or Bluehost. These are the two best hosting providers you can get for niche sites, it’s a simple as that. The screenshots below are taken from one of my HostGator accounts and it looks almost identical to Bluehost.

1) Let’s start by creating the folder we need (http://MyDogTrainingProgram.com/go/nameofprogram)
If you know how to use an FTP program that is great and I really don’t need to explain this to you. For those of you not familiar with FTP I’m going to simply use the FTP  filemanager that is readily available on your so called cPanel (control panel) at HostGator or Bluehost.

Start by logging into the control panel (cPanel) of your hosting account (you should have received login information in an e-mail when you signed up)

On the cPanel main menu find the “FileManager” (see image below)

filemanager

Once you click it it might ask you to select which directory to open, just select the web root (see image below) and click OK

filemanager2

After selecting the Web Root directory you should be taken to a screen looking similar to the one in the image below…
Make sure that you are in the WWW or public_html directory and then click the “New Folder” button.

filemanager3
In this example I decided to name my folder “go” (see image below)

filemanager4

You should be able to see it in the File Manager now (see image below)
filemanager6
Now that you have created the “go” folder select it in the webtree (see image below) and then click the “create folder” button again.

filemanager7
You should give this folder the same name as the product. Example: if the product name is Dog Training Guide then name the folder “dogtrainingguide”… to keep things simple I just named my folder “ProductName” (see image below)

filemanager8

You are now done with the first part as we have created this directory http://www.DogTrainingProgram.com/go/ProductName

2) Now lets create the redirect.
Since you have created a folder, all you need is
to tell the Host that youwant to redirect all traffic that comes to this folder.

Log into your hosting account. At your cPanel find a box called “Domains” in it should be a button called “Redirects” – Click it.. (see image below)

redirects1

On your screen you should see something very similar to the image below…
redirects2

a) Select the “TYPE Permanent 301″
b) You put in your domain name  as shown in the picture.
c) Behind the domain name you put the name of the two folders you just created earlier. In my case I created a “go” folder and the “ProductName” and you can see that in the picture (don’t forget the forward slash between them.
d) Paste your hoplink/affiliate link into the “redirects to” box
e) I always select “Redirect with or without the www.” – It ensures that it will forward all traffic even if I forget to put the www in my link :)
f) You don’t really need the Wild Card Redirect. It’s just a habit of mine to have it set like this
g) now just press ADD

If you have done everything correctly you should now test it. Open a new browser window and type in it: http://www.YourDomainName.com/go/ProductName
It should redirect you through the hoplink you used.

If it’s not working make sure you have everything spelled correctly and that the folders are where they should be.
If you can’t figure it out just use the comments below and I’ll help you throught the steps

Now you can add folders and products to promote
Now that you have learned to use folder redirects you can add more folders to this site if you want to promote more than just the one product. This gives you the power of promoting just as many products as you want using this one domain.. it also makes it very easy to stop promoting one product and start promoting something else.

Good luck

Niche Keyword Research | Newbie Tips

Posted under Internet Marketing by tryggvie on Thursday 6 August 2009 at 12:58 pm

This post might look like a bit of a rant but it does have a lot of valuable information on Niche Keyword Research.

I just needed to get this off my chest. I am working on a more detailed post explaining keyword research in general, what tools to use, how to do it etc.

anyways.. here are some Niche Keyword Research Tips…

Niche keyword research is a challenging task. However, a lot of new website owners think that the process is fairly easy. Even if tools like Overture Search Term Suggestion and the free version of Wordtracker are available, these tools won’t exactly bring in the desired results. This is because these tools only give a rough guide as to the keywords that are commonly searched but do not really give all the things required to process this information.

Expert keyword research is not just about the keywords that people are typing into their search buttons. It involves both research and analysis and there is a lot to the process that cannot be left to luck. It’s best to leave keyword research to the experts, true, but it pays if you know the top 5 tips for effective keyword research.

Latent Semantic Indexing is one of them. Basically, people use a string of words to search for information online. This is what LSI is after – to know how people position their words in multi-word phrases when they conduct a search. LSI may come up with generic terms but these terms have the tendency to attract traffic more than the main keywords you have.

One mistake that most people do in doing keyword research is that they use a long string of different keywords and paste it in the same meta tag description of every page in their site. This is not effective. In doing keyword research, you have to be page specific, that is focusing to only 2 to 5 keywords per page. Sure, this takes longer but it ensures that each page on your site gets a higher ranking for their own keywords.

Keywords can also be country specific, therefore you have to consider this when you do keyword research. For example, color is spelled colour in British English and if you don’t include this in your list of keywords, you are losing a lot of possible traffic. Therefore, you have to consider the different kind of spellings and even misspellings when doing keyword research.

As previously mentioned, you also need to use some analysis when researching for keywords. You may already have implemented the use of keywords for your website but you still need to check out the competition for the keywords you have selected. You can achieve this by typing in your keyword in search engines. From there you can see your competition and how far down you are in search engine results.

You should also see to it that you monitor your keywords and continue doing research as your website breaks through the online scene. You have to do this so you can do some tweaking where needed. Keeping your site up to date with SEO techniques is one way to ensure success.

This may be too much to take at one time and you may feel that it is best to leave these things to the expert. But, if you research on each tip thoroughly, you’ll become an expert yourself in no time.

One great tool for affiliate marketers can use to make life so much easier is Micro Niche Finder.

Internet Video Marketing For Newbies

Posted under Internet Marketing by tryggvie on Friday 31 July 2009 at 12:48 pm

Internet Video Marketing is becoming increasingly popular and for a good reason. People simply don’t like to read that much and it’s also easier to learn and understand if you are shown how things work or how to do them.

There are two phrases I use a lot when training sales people and marketers and those are “Seeing IS Believing” and “Perception IS Reality” – and Internet Video Marketing is the best way to utilize those phrases to generate leads and sales.

Due to the fast pace of the internet and how everything changes in just a few months this post will always be a work in progress and I will constantly be adding to it and making changes as things progress online.

If you are new to Internet Video Marketing then you should read this post carefully as it can boost your online success greatly!

There are many ways for you to market a new business online. Aside from the traditional means of article marketing, blog marketing, advertising, etc, you can also use internet video marketing to promote your products. Video marketing is the latest trend to hit online marketing.

The Internet has certainly made it easier for visual learners to get the information they need with a click of the mouse. With this fact, it can be said that a video is a good way to reach your audience. Video marketing is relatively new but this doesn’t mean that only the experts have the right to use this marketing method. Below are some tips to ensure a successful internet video marketing campaign for your business.

Just like the offline business principle, “Location, location, location”, you have to first know the places where to place your videos in. You have a choice to post your videos in your website, blogs, online communities, video blogging sites, or a combination of all these locations.

Knowing where to put your videos is essential since it aids you in determining its content. Of course, when you are creating a video marketing campaign, you have to be careful not to make it appear as a sales pitch for your products and services. As a general rule, your videos should make your visitors interested in visiting your site. You must also put in site appropriate content for your videos so that it won’t appear out of place.

For instance, the videos found in your website should be more product or service oriented. These videos should tell your site visitors how effective the things you are offering are. Apart from this, you can also include video testimonials from your satisfied customers. Special promotions and updates can also be stated in video format.

The videos you post on online blogs should be more focused on news, updates, and promotions. These videos should entice your audience to visit your site for more details. The videos in video blogging sites should be more entertaining and less product-oriented. Don’t mislead your audience with a sales pitch because you won’t be referred that way.

Your audience should be considered from the conceptualization of your video marketing campaign to its implementation. You should know who your audiences are and the information they are looking for so that you can make a video that will catch their attention.

Upon considering these tips, all you have to do is to make your videos as engaging as possible and get them online fast. Of course, don’t forget that you may need the service of a video server to host your videos.

Soon I will be adding some “how to” to this post as I know a lot of you have never created any videos. In that part of this post I will tell you about the best tools to use, how to render, compress and even how to post the videos.

Good luck for now!

Blog Marketing – How To Make Money Blogging?

Posted under Internet Marketing by tryggvie on Friday 24 July 2009 at 6:26 pm

Blog MarketingIt seems that in the last year people have really been discovering the enormous power of a good blog. Blog marketing is simply a term used to describe a blog that’s sole purpose is to market a product, website, company, etc.

Blog marketing is one of those great FREE methods we can all use and that is one of the reasons for it’s popularity. Another big reason is that a popular blog, even though it is not selling anything can be used to push other sites up in search engine ranks by building backlinks.

In this post I want to accomplish 3 things. Explain how and where to setup a blog using only free resources, how to setup a blog on your own domain with your own hosting plan and then finally I want to give you some pointers on how to use these blogs to make money.

Part I – Using FREE Resources To Setup A Blog

If you want to setup a free blog it’s best to use blogger.com – this site is owned by google and therefor it gets indexed very quickly and will rank rather well. It’s very simple to set it up as you are taken through very easy steps and guided through the process. Just make sure that you already have a gmail to use for the sign up.

I often create a small blog to support something I’m doing, even though I know it has very little chance of selling anything. I know it will still will help. Let me give you an example of a super simle blog I created to support one of my product reviews:http://themassarticlecontrolreview.blogspot.com/

I don’t think I need to explain anything about the setup of these free blogs as they are very simple and easy to use and the instructions provided by blogspot are very good.

Just make sure you take a look at the layout section and play with that a bit. You can add gadgets there that contain your very own ads, pictures, text and it can easily be used to sell.

There is also the monetize option. Thanks to google they have made it very easy to put it google ads that you get paid for if clicked. Just make sure that you setup the ads so they are relevant to what you are blogging about.

If you have any questins d0n’t hesitate to comment on this post

Part II- Using Paid Resources To Setup A Blog

The best and safest way to make money on a blog is to set it up on your own domain on your hosting account. There is always a risk factor when you put all your content on a website that someone else ownes (like blogger.com) You can buy cheap domains at GoDaddy (.info for $1) and I would strongly recommend that you host at HostGator. Using their services makes everything so easy! From the cPanel at Hostgator you can use the Fantastico tool to install and setup your wordpress  blog within seconds! For the $7 or $8 you pay pr. month you can setup unlimited domains so you can have as many blogs as you want, all making you money!

I’m not going to spend my time explaing how to finetune your wordpress blog as you can find very good instuctions at wordpress.com

I’d rather spend my time giving you tips that will help you make money on your blog.

Part III – Tips For A Successful Blog

Choosing a domain name
Don’t be to to quick here. Take your time as the domain name plays a very big role in google ranking. Preferably you want your domain name to be your strongest keyword. For example if you were promoting a cook book for people with diebetes your strongest domain name would be diebetesdiet.com – google keyword tool tells us that the “diebetes diet” keyword gets over 200.000 searches every month so you would easily get some of that traffic with that domain name. The same rule apply if you are using a blogger.com for you blog. It would just be: yourbestkeyword.blogspot.com

I often get questions regarding .us .info .org  versus  .com – the simple answer is this, always try to go for the .com domain and don’t use hyphens or underscore or anything like that. A .com domain will always rank higher in search engines vs. .info because a lot of spamming has been done on the cheaper domain names. The .com names are also stronger in the minds of consumers. Note that consumers don’t try to remember the ending of your domain name. If you have a domain called FindTheBestDeals.info and you put out ads.. I can promise that a very high percentage of the people looking for your domain will type .com first and if that is your competitor you are simply giving your customers away!

Blog name
As with the domain name you should also use your main keyword in the name. This will help you rank higher in google and other search engines. It’s also a good idea to have a subtitle where you could even push in another keyword. For example: Diabetes Diet – Get Your Diabetes Diet Plan Here

Tightly focused niche.
Now regarding the content, make sure that your blog is very focused. If  you are promoting clickbank products make sure you are only promoting one or two products and that they both are dealing with the same problem. You don’t want to confuse your reader so keep it simple for him. In addittion to your product recommendation you should put in some google ads. If your reader doesn’t fall for your product there is always a good change he will notice an exciting ad and then he leaves making you a couple of cents or even up to two dollars! You can also sign up with eBay and/or Amazon and promote some of their products.

I’ll use the diabetes to explain what I mean further. On such a page I would find one or two products on clickbank that deal with curing diabetes. I would have a product review page on each of those products but all may main post would be informatino on the diet of diabetes. In those posts I would put an Amazon widget promoting Diabetes diet books and finally I would use some google ads.

Make sure you offer RSS
Many people don’t understand RSS and how it is used and I’m not going to go into deteils here What I want to tell is that it is important to offer it and to make sure that you give submit your RSS feed to places like FeedCat, Feedage, Feedfury and more. Here is a list of good RSS Directories to submit to.

Why? You see, many people and companies are looking for free content to put publish on their website and they get that from these feed directories. That means that if your blog is listed in all these directories there is a good chance your content is being posted all over the place giving you even more backlinks and pushing your search engine rank even higher. There is also another reason to do this. Putting your feed there means that google (and others) will find your posts faster.

Keyword optimize every post
Make sure that all your post are focusing on a keyword that will drive the right traffic to you. Make sure that your keyword is in your post title, the first paragrap and preferably every 100 words. You should also hyperlink you keyword somewhere in the post.

Market your blog
Make sure that you do all you can to market your blog. Write articles and post them with Ezine articles. Make sure you clipmark every post you make. Use social bookmarking and twitter.

Learn from the best
If you really want to learn how to earn money using blogs then check out Wordpress Goldmine. I have been using it and the program is just awsome. Easy to follow, great for newbies and Mark just keeps adding more and more great stuff to the members forum. I promise that you will not be dissapointed.

How to get even more content for you blog
There are ways for you to get more content for your blog. One good way is to post Ezine articles from others in your blog. Just be careful how you choose the articles and inspect what is behind the links each article is promoting. If the links are not competing with your products then you should have no problem posting them.

If you are working with a niche you don’t know much about you might have to spend a lot of time researching before writing much. There are three ways to deal with that. One is using the Instant Article Wizard Pro to help you write and research. You can get increadibly much content from Unique Article Wizard, you can get free articles without buying access to the program. The third option is simply to buy articles. You can get great articles from GetArticlesDone.com

Questions and more info
If you have any questions or feel that there is something missing (and I’m sure there is) then just post a comment and I will do my best to answer and add more tips to this post. I will also be adding some more content here in the coming weeks.

Article MarketingWhat Is Article Marketing?

Article marketing is basically a disguised ad and this form of marketing has been used for decades. (not only since the internet came along).  Before the internet it was much more difficult and more expensive to reach potential customers. What many companies realized was that they could write an article with some valuable information and it would then get published in various magazines without any cost for the company and the author would even get credited at the end of the article and the credit would include his job status and workplace. This ment that happy readers would credit the company and it would strengthen the brand awareness towards that company.

When the digital age came this format of marketing came even more important as it can also be used to influence search engines. What I mean by that is not only will the reader possible use a hyperlink (at the autors bio) to visit the company website (or product page) but the search engines will also rank the company website higher (give it more authority) when it finds so many articles online all pointing to it… in short, the more article you have out there pointing to you site of product the more change you have on getting to #1 place in google search.

How does Article Marketing Work?

When you have a product or a website that you would like people to visit you can use articles to let people know about it. Basically you write an interesting article on a subject related to your website/product, and at the end of the article you tell people where they can find more valuable information or even the solution to the problem and point them to you website. It’s really that simple and it will result in two things. First of all you hopefully will get the readers interested enough to click the link you provide. With every article you publish online you will also improve your search engine rank. (the search engine part does involve proper use of keywords explained later in this post).

Article Directories Basics

There are numerous article directories online that will accept your articles but they do not all work in the same way and some have more impact on google than others. If you are in affiliate marketing then you really do not need more directories then in the article directorie list at the bottom of this post. If you have a company and you will only be promoting specific types of products then you should be looking for product specific article directories (like ArticleGarden.com that focuses on Sustainable Living Articles).

The first thing you need to learn is patience. Article marketing takes time and usually you will also have to wait for a couple of weeks to see real results. Just keep in mind that this is a free method of marketing and it’s one of the most powerful ones if you keep at it and do it right.

When it comes to Article directories you need to learn some basic rules. First of all, the best directories don’t like it when your article body (the main text) sounds to selling. Think of these directories as magazines, if you want to place an ad you will have to pay and you can do what you want with your page but if you want an article published you have to provide valuable information to the readers and not just a sales pitch.

This does not mean that you can’t sell. This is where the author’s bio box comes in. Every article comes with some “information about the autor” but you don’t have to put credentials there, you can simply put in something like:

Article Writing 101 – Learn to write articles that sell and get accepted.

A good article is put together of 3 important things: |   Title  |  Article body  |  Resource box/Bio Box  |

1) The Title

Let me be very clear on this: The Title Is The MOST Important Part Of Your Article!

If you are wondering why.. let me explain. You article will be listed in directories and found in search engines and if your title isn’t “sexy” enough then NO ONE will click to take a closer look at your article.. it’s as simple as that. Now there are a few ways to make it appealing and interesting. Using some “magic” words will help you but the best tool you can use is your brain. Do some google searches on a topic you like and see which titles makes you wan’t to click on them… make notes of what words are being used and how they are put together. There is now reason for you to be inventing the wheel.. learn from the success of others.

But to help you I will show you some “magic words” for your title and use a before/after to show the dramatic effect.

warning” and “danger” are good words to use:

Before title: “Learn How To Build A Chicken Coop In Your Backyard”

After title: “WARNING: Don’t Start To Build A Chicken Coop Until You Have Read This!”

the word “secret” is also very powerful

Before title: “10 Tips That Will Help You Loose Weight Quickly!”

After title: ” 10 Powerful Weightloss Secrets Revealed To Help You Loose Weight Quickly!”

How To..” is also a very popular and good one that needs no further explaining.

Asking questions that call for an answer is always great

Before title: “7 Good Ways To Prevent A Heart Attack!”

After title: ” Do You Know The 7 Best Ways To Prevent A Heart Attack?”

These titles should get your head on the right track. Just remember to use powerful adjectives like Powerful, Best, Great, Super, Most, Easy, Simple, Fast, Quick and of course the word FREE!

Finally, VERY IMPORTANT: make sure that your keyword is in the title. I explain this further in the #keyword part of this post

2) The Article Body

The lenght of your article is important for two reasons. First of all, people really don’t like to read to much on the screen, they like to scan. The other reason is simply that all the extra information would give you more power in a seperate article. You should always aim to have your articles close to 350 words (excluding the title and the bio/resource box). So do yourself a favour and split your 700-900 articles into two and you will get twice the power!

I should not have to explain to you the importance of spelling and grammar.. but I’ll do it anyway. ALWAYS DOUBLE CHECK YOUR SPELLING AND GRAMMAR!.. now was that loud enough for you? There are plenty of applications that can spell check for you. You can even get spell checking plugins for both Firefox and Internet Explorer. Bad spelling and grammar will not only give the reader a bad impression of you but can also lead to your articles getting declinded by the directories. Incorrect spelling can also effect the search engines, especially if  you make mistakes spelling the keywords!

There is a proper way to build up an article to make it sell. There has been a very popular  acronym used in marketing for decades, it’s AIDA and it spells Attention-Interest-Desire-Action. Always think of AIDA when writing articles. First of all, you grab the Attention using a good title. Then you use the first paragraphs to raise interest, explain a bit bit further, use examples anyone can understand and perhaps show proof using a quote or a testimonial. Finally you have to get the reader to want something (Desire), it can be more information, a solution, etc. And that is how you should end the article body.. having the reader craving more. Then the Action usually comes in the bio/resource box.

Some article directories allow you to use 1 link in the article body and some don’t allow it at all. Personally I never put a link in the body and my articles and keywords are doing really well (few in #1 position at google) so I guess it does not really matter that much. You put the links in the resource/bio box.. which we cover next.

Regarding the content of your article body it should be broken into 3 parts. (this method is very well know in sales).
1) In the first part you simply tell the reader what you are about to tell him, sort of like a very short introduction. This should be your first paragraph and try not to make longer than 2 or 3 sentences.
2) The second part conains the points or tips you are giving the reader
3) And in the third part you tell them what you told them. Give them a short sum-up of everything.

Using this method makes it very easy to write articles as you can simly write the middle part first and then the other two parts are very easy as they are simply a summary of the middle part.

3) the Resource and/or bio box

The resource box is different from one directorie to another and some don’t even have it. The Resource box is where you put your Call To Action, where you make the sale. This is where you can put the links. You should always use two links and at least one of them should be the keyword, like this: “here is my full <a href=”YourLinkHere”>Mass Article Control Review</a> if you want more information.” and then you can either use another keyword sniping link or show a domain name you want to brand like: “then chek out my website: <a href=”http://www.theclickbanknewbie.com”>www.TheClickBankNewbie.com</a>”

The volume of text you can put in the resource box also varies between the directories, EzineArticles.com for examples allows you to use up to 300 words so you can really use that to sell but others only allow a fraction of that. It is a good rule to always have two versions available to copy/paste in, a short one and a long one.

In some directories there is no resource box. In those cases you either have to put your “call to action text” in the author bio box or at the bottom of the article body. If you put it in the article bottom then always use the preview to see if the directorie will strip the html out, if they do you have to use the Author bio box. These rules are always posted on the article sites so you can just read their publish guidlines to find out how they operate.

Regarding the links, many article directories ban the use of hoplinks (if you don’t know what a hoplink is then check out my Affiliate Newbie Basics post). There are a couple of ways to deal with that. You can use a free services like tinyurl.com or Addme.com. But a more sophisticated way is to simply buy a .info domain at GoDaddy for a $1 and have it auto-forward to your hoplink. (learn how to forward your domain at GoDaddy coming soon).

Putting it all toghether

If you are thinking “Oh My God.. This is so much work..!” - just take a deep breath and relax a bit and let me calm you down. It may look like a lot of work but it really isn’t. The first two or three articles might take a bit long to write but after that you will do it in no time. For me article writing is a pain.. at least before I start. I procrastinate and try to find someting else to do so I don’t have to begin just yet. And after quite a while and painful thoughts I begin and swooosh it’s done, and I always think “wow, that was quick, why was I worried?”.

Just stay positive, think of the potential income behind every article and start with a big smile (did I mention that just one well written article can put thousands of dollars in your pocket in just a few months!)

The importance of unique content in Article Writing

Now that you are able to write your first article and submit it there is something you need to know. You can’t submit that article to more than ONE directorie! The really good article directories want unique content, meaning that they don’t want to publish the same article you published somewhere else 2 minutes ago. If you do, you risk both directories pulling your article and that is not good. But that’s not all. If the search engines are finding the same article again and again they mark it as spam and you will not get the rank pull you hoped for.

If you want that same article published elsewhere you need to rewrite it. You simply have to be willing to put in the work of writing at least 1 article a day, 5 articles if you really want to secceed! You can get software that will help you creating 100’s of unique articles from just 1 original, but more on that after we cover keywords.

Using keywords in Article Marketing

Using your keywords in your articles is almost the only reason why you are writing them in the first place! This is not so difficult to master.

First of all, you must put your keyword in the title. So if you keyword is ‘how to build a chicken coop’ your title could be something like “How To Build A Chicken Coop And Save Thousands!” – It’s always good to have the keyword as close to the front as possible.

Next you want to put your keyword in the first paragraph of you article and as close to the beginning as possible. Something like: “Online you can find many ebooks on how to build a chicken coop. However, many of them…”

Now as a rule of thumb, you should aim to put your keyword in at least once pr. every 100 words or so.

Finally you MUST ’snipe’ your keyword in the resource box. Sniping means that you are hyperlinking the keyword. Here is an example so there is no misunderstanding of this:

“To save both time and money learn <a href=”yourlinkhere”>how to build a chicken coop</a> using my secret method.”

These are the fundamentals of using keywords in articles. There are different rules in blogging so make sure you check out my blog marketing post (coming soon).

Article Creation Software

Writing articles is probably the part most people hate. Personally I often find it painful so I always look for the easy way out. I have tried and tested some programs and here are the ones I really like.

First of all there is the Instant Article Wizard Pro. If you are promoting a product you are not that familiar with this tool will be your best friend. It will generate the text for you using keywords you give it. Of course the text will not be perfect so you will need to rewrite but it will save your hours and even days in research. There is a very good video showing how it works in my Instant Article Pro review.

When you have written an article you like there are ways to make unique copies of it. You don’t want to send the same article all over the place as some article directories will not accept duplicate content and the search engines will not be happy with it. There are two products that I like that do that for you.

The best one in my opinion is the Unique Article Wizard. It it very easy to use, quick and it will also send out 100’s of articles for you.  Using this product will cost $67 every month but if you can affort that I say go for it.. you will soon reap as you sow! For all the details on this product check out my Unique Article Wizard review.

As I mentioned there is a second choice, the Mass Article Control. It’s a product similar to UAW, meaning that it will also create unique versions of your article but it does so in a very different way. There is also a Mass Article Submitter included but it is a bit limited. But for a single 77 dollar fee I’d say that this product is a bargain! For full details, check out my Mass Article Control review.

Article Submission Services

Submitting by hand to all the article directories is time consuming but if you are willing to open up your wallet you can make this easier.

Article Marketer is by far the best and easiest way to distribute your articles. They are the larget distribution network in the industry with over 200 million article distributions. At the moment their FREE ‘lite’ service is still open but they have announced that they will be closing it soon so get in while you can! There is great value in their ‘unlimited’ paid service. They have 3.463 sites in 364 categories and you can distribute unlimited articles to those sites for only $34 pr month.  There is also an offer for lifetime membership option where you pay $599 ($10 month for 5 years) and never a penny more.

Then there is the Unique Article Wizard I mentioned above. It’s also super good. I’m personally using this one.

ArticleBot from Incansoft is also good to use and has a super good price ($24.95). It’s not as good as the two above but if you don’t have much in your wallet this is a smart choice.

Finally there is the Article Submitter from Bred Callen. It’s far from being as good as the others but it is FREE!

IMPORTANT: I would recommend that you always send manually to the top 3 article directories to make absolutely sure everything goes smooth. (see article directories list below)

Buying Articles To Use

I’m still doing a little testing on this.. but as soon as I’m done with that (before the end of july) I will post my recommendations here.

List Of Article Directories You Can (and should) Submit To

Note that these directories handle articles differently, Ezine Articles for example will take at least 7 days to review your article while GoArticles will post it right away. Learn how they work, read and follow their guidlines and you will be in good shape.
Tip: Always, always, alwasy submit your articles to Ezine and Go Articles, these are the two most important as these are google’s favorite!

Ezine Articles - This is the number one directorie and if you only send to one directory make sure it’s this one. Google just loves them!

Go Articles – This is the other directorie Google loves.

iSnare Articles - If you always submit to these three directores then you are sure to have success!

Here are some other good article directories to send to:
SearchWarp
Articlesbase
Idea Marketers
Article Dashboard
Amazines
